A2 have been retained by Freestyle Skate parks to advise on ground conditions  including Geotechnical . Contaminated  land and mineral assessments for a number of sites across the UK.

Freestyle Skateparks design and build professional skateparks for the public and private sector. The main material and construction method used  is in-situ formed, float finish concrete design and building skateparks that clients will be proud of for years to come.  Skateparks are ‘design and build’ projects and fall into the sports and the construction industry.  Providing a facility for skating and its related sports requires a higher than usual knowledge and expertise within the field in comparison to other sports.  Every site is different and Freestyle provide leading skateparks for areas regardless of site size, shape, restrictions or budget.

Key to providing a professional skatepark is good  understanding of the ground conditionds and A2 provide this service  in sies ranging from inner city to out of town. The site investigation is critical in formulating how the skatepark will be constructed allowing the most apprriate design for a  skatepark best suited to its environment.

Having advised on a wide  portfolio of acclaimed skateparks, A2 have helped Freestyle  overcome restrictions, enabling the skatepark to be uncompromised. By Issues such as: a high water table; contaminated land; difficult drainage; sensitive surroundings such as local properties or listed buildings, to name a few. These issues have been successfully overcome through practical ground engineering solutions; close contact with all parties involved with the project; and  solid professional expertise.

Typically A2 will review the ground conditions including CBR and chemical testing by trial pit or intrusive mechanism. We also conduct percol;ation tests , noise monitoring and any other environmental impacts considered appropriate.
